Petersburg is one of the biggest towns in the Russia. Petersburg is known over the word as very attractive tourist center. It is Culture, industrial, educational center of Russia. 
Saint-Petersburg was founded on May, 27, 1703 by Russian Emperor Peter I with aim to do gateway to Europe for Russia. In 1712 the city became the capital of Russian Empire. Over 200 years Petersburg was capital of Russian Empire and there many famous Russian's (Pushkin, Lermontov, Dostoevsky, Block, Repin, Rimsky-Korsakov) have lived and created. You can see many luxurious palaces, churches, museums in Petersburg now. The most knows sightseeing's in Petersburg are: Hermitage, Russian Museum, Spas-na-Krovy cathedral, Isaac cathedral , Kazansky cathedral, the Peter and Paul cathedral, Cruiser Aurora e.t.c. Saint-Petersburg is "the city of White Nights". You can walk along the streets and yards of old Saint-Petersburg, sail on rivers and canals of Saint-Petersburg, also called The North Venice, walk along the Neva embankments with granite banks and look at 400 bridges of Saint-Petersburg.
